"No official Ufo's have been reported", reads the publicity page for Sherman Farms' ginormous corn field maze in Fryeburg, Maine. So how did this maze come to be? Obviously, whatever extra-terrestrial help the farmers had, they were die-hard UNH sports fans.
Eight bucks for non kids to get in, give yourself plenty of time to march on this otherwise beautiful river bank. At ten acres large, the maze provides plenty of discouraging dead ends, though no place for a pee break (besides in the corn stalks themselves.)
A friend went last year--she said the paths were packed dirt, deadened by herbicide. If you're tuned into things like that, it might be more depressing then it's worth. But if you're not, as they say...."GAME ON!"
